Create Your First VLVTN Smart Link
Create a smart link
- Select Create LinkIn the dashboard, select Create Link in the top bar. If you have no links yet, the empty state shows a Create Link button as well. Either one opens the New Link screen.
- Pick a link typeOn the What type of link? screen, choose one of the types: Release, Playlist, Artist, Link-in-Bio, Email Signup, or Download. Selecting a card takes you to the details step.
- Enter the detailsFill in Title, which is required. Add an Artist / Creator Name if you want. The slug fills in from your Title and sits after vlvtn.link/. You can edit it, and the form shows Available or Not available as you type. For a Release you can also set a Release Date.
- Select Create & EditSelect Create & Edit. The link is created and the editor opens so you can add destinations, artwork, and a theme.
Import from Velveteen
If your Velveteen account is connected and you are creating a Release, an Import from Velveteen panel appears in the details step. Select Browse, search for a release, and choose it. The Title, artist, and Release Date fill in from that release.

Where do I create a smart link?

What link types can I choose?
Release, Playlist, Artist, Link-in-Bio, Email Signup, and Download. You pick one on the What type of link? screen, and you can change the Type later from the Content tab in the editor.
What do I have to fill in?
Title is required. Artist / Creator Name is optional. The slug is generated from your Title and you can edit it. For a Release you can also set a Release Date.
What is the slug?
The slug is the part of the public address after vlvtn.link/. As you type, the form shows Available or Not available so you can pick one that is free.
Can I pull details from a connected Velveteen account?
For a Release, if your Velveteen account is connected, an Import from Velveteen panel lets you browse and select a release. Selecting one fills in the Title, artist, and Release Date.
