Questions

Do UTMs track my conversions?

No. UTMs label where your traffic came from for analytics like GA4. They are not the Meta conversion event. The pixel and the Conversions API still do the counting on the click-out to a streaming service.

What's the difference between source and medium?

Source is the specific origin, like facebook or your newsletter name. Medium is the channel type, like cpc for paid, email, or social. Source answers 'who sent them', medium answers 'what kind of channel'.

Why does case matter?

Analytics treats 'Email' and 'email' as two different mediums, so your reports split in two. This builder warns you if a value has uppercase or spaces so you can keep everything lowercase and hyphenated.

Do I need utm_content and utm_term?

Only if you want them. utm_content is handy for telling two ad versions apart. utm_term is usually a keyword and most music campaigns can leave it blank.
